Starting up:

1. When I push the "ON" button the player will not switch on.
2. The battery won't fit on to my tablet DVD player.
3. Why is there a curly piece of plastic in the corner of my screen?

Operating the player:

1. When I connect the tablet player to my TV, using the AV output cable, the image on the TV is black and white and is rolling up the screen constantly. The image on the tablet player is OK? Why is this?
2. How do I get my tablet DVD player to show a picture from another source, such as a camcorder or another DVD player?
3. Can the battery be charged while watching a movie?
4. How do I know when the battery is fully charged?
5. I bought a Nextbase portable tablet DVD-player and I wonder why when I play DVD movies there is black space above and below the picture. The player is thereby not using in the full space available. Is it possible to change this somehow?

7. I have purchased one of your DVD players and I wanted to use it in the car to play a DVD of MP3 music. The disks do not load and the DVD player says Bad Disk'.  I use a 4:3 TV. Every time I turn on my NextBase DVD player I have to press setup on the remote control, choose video, change the picture size to 4:3 LB and then exit the menu. Can the player set 4:3 as the default setting?
8. I recently purchased a NextBase Tablet DVD Player and I was wondering if I purchased another unit if I could link the two units in the car and watch the same DVD film on the two screens while playing from one of the units only.

Troubleshooting:

1. My screen has dark lines across it, to a point in the middle. When pressed it looks like fluid underneath. What's wrong?

1. I have misplaced the remote control for my NextBase DVD player, can I buy a replacement?

Starting up:

1. When I push the . ON. button the player will not switch on.
   A: Pressing the . ON. button momentarily will not switch the player on. Press and hold the . ON. button for 3 seconds for the player to switch on. (Same procedure applies to the . OFF. button.)
   
   
2. The battery won. t fit on to my tablet DVD player.
   A: The battery connection on the DVD player is covered by a rubber cover when newly delivered. This needs to be removed before the battery can be fitted.
   
   
3. Why is there a curly piece of plastic in the corner of my screen?
   A: This protective plastic sheet was applied in the production process to ensure that the screen was not scratched during manufacturing or shipment to you. Simply pull on the curly plastic corner firmly to remove the whole protective sheet and expose a clear perfect monitor underneath.

Operating the player:

1. When I connect the tablet player to my TV, using the AV output cable, the image on the TV is black and white and is rolling up the screen constantly. The image on the tablet player is OK? Why is this?
   A: The TV and DVD player must be set to the same image format to work perfectly together. If a PAL only TV is to be used, then set the DVD player to PAL output. Press . SETUP. , choose . VIDEO. , move right, choose . PAL. press . ENTER. (in the middle of four direction arrows) then press . SETUP. . Same procedure applies to NTSC only TV. s. Simply set the DVD player output to NTSC using the above process.
   
   
2. How do I get my tablet DVD player to show a picture from another source, such as a camcorder or another DVD player?
   A: Press the Menu . M. button 5 times (passing the brightness, color and reverse settings) to get to the DVD IN or OUT setting. To turn the AV IN mode on follow these instructions:
   Power on: Press the . Mode. button to display the following:
   
   This means that it is in AV Out mode.
   Now press + or – button to change it to AV In mode.
   To change it back to AV out mode just follow the instructions again.
   
   
3. Can the battery be charged while watching a movie?
   A: Yes. The battery can be charged while watching a movie.
   
   
4. How do I know when the battery is fully charged?
   A: The LED battery indicator on the front of the battery turns green when the battery is fully charged.
   
   
5. I bought a Nextbase portable tablet DVD-player and I wonder why when I play DVD movies there is black space above and below the picture. The player is thereby not using in the full space available. Is it possible to change this somehow?
   A: The TFT is 16:9 scale, check the TV TYPE item in SETUP menu, it should be set to 16:9. But there are some movies which do not support 16:9 mode, so it will display the original scale on TFT.

   A: Divx and Xvid cannot be upgraded with a firmware upgrade.
   
   
7. I have purchased one of your DVD players and I wanted to use it in the car to play a DVD of MP3 music. The disks do not load and the DVD player says 'Bad Disk. . Can I play a DVD disk of MP3 files? 
   A: NextBase DVD players do not support MP3 files on DVD discs. Please record your MP3 music onto CD-R or CD-RW disk. s in order to play them on your DVD player.
   
   
8. I use a 4:3 TV. Every time I turn on my NextBase DVD player I have to press setup on the remote control, choose video, change the picture size to 4:3 LB and then exit the menu. Can the player set 4:3 as the default setting?
   A: When the player is turned on the permanent default is set to 16:9 mode. You can either set your TV to 16:9 or set your player to 4:3 every time you start it.
   
   
9. I recently purchased a NextBase Tablet DVD Player and I was wondering if I purchased another unit if I could link the two units in the car and watch the same DVD film on the two screens while playing from one of the units only.
   A: Yes, this is possible, but you will need 1 AV cable (supplied with your player) and 2 AV adapters (see picture). To do this, do the following:
   
   
   
   AV Adapters
   a. Set 1 DVD player to . AV out. mode (this is the default setting) and play the DVD in this player
   b. Set the other player to . AV in. mode (see question # 23 for instructions on how to do this)
   c. Connect the two DVD players with the AV cable, video to video & audio to audio (see picture).
   
   

Troubleshooting:

1. My screen has dark lines across it, to a point in the middle. When pressed it looks like fluid underneath. What. s wrong?
   A: The glass on the LCD panel has been smashed. Some of the picture may still be visible. Basically it. s not useable. The panel is replaceable but this is not covered under warranty. Contact or repair centre.

3. I can. t power my DVD player from the mains adaptor.
   A. If the DVD player still works perfectly using the auto adapter power cord and the battery, then the mains adaptor has failed. Contact the NEXTBASE Product Support Centre for a replacement or repair to this product.
   
   
4. The remote control has stopped working. What can be done?
   A: Change the battery in the remote control. Battery type CR2025, available from most electrical stores. Make sure that the battery is the right way up when fitted as per the picture shown on the back of the remote control itself.
   
   
5. I have one Pixel on my monitor which appears black. Is this normal?
   A: One pixel in this condition (or any color) is considered normal. As there are 336960 pixels on the LCD display, one failed pixel is just 0.0003% which is within the production acceptance. We do not accept a player for warranty repair unless there are 7 or more failed pixels or any 2 failed pixels that are within 15mm of each other.
   
   
6. I bought a Nextbase portable tablet DVD-player and I wonder why when I play DVD movies there is black space above and below the picture. The player is thereby not using in the full space available. Is it possible to change this somehow?
   A: The TFT is 16:9 scale, check the TV TYPE item in SETUP menu, it should be set to 16:9. But there are some movies which do not support 16:9 mode, so it will display the original scale on TFT.

   A: There is a needle on the back of the unit. You can take it out and use it to open the CD tray.

   A: NextBase DVD players do not support MP3 files on DVD discs. Please record your MP3 music onto CD-R
   or CD-RW disk. s in order to play them on your DVD player.
   
   
10. Why won. t the DVD player play DVD+RW disks that my friend has recorded for me.
    A While the DVD player does play most DVD+RW disks, the whole DVD+RW format is not consistent as it is NOT an official format and best avoided if possible ! See the DVD forum notice:
    
    Important Notice regarding +RW or DVD+RW technology
    +RW is not the DVD Format created and authorized by the DVD Forum. Likewise, although strikingly similar in appearance to the DVD-RW, there is no DVD Format called DVD+RW or +RW among the Formats created and authorized by the DVD Forum. There is No Verification Process for +RW or DVD+RW products
